Ellie’s Garden

With the weather continuing to be maddeningly unseasonable and unpredictable (I felt like I should throw on a college hoodie and get ready to watch some football this week!), Ellie and I took matters into our own hands. We built her a little indoor garden so she could plant seeds, take care of them daily, and watch the plants sprout. Anyone who knows me is probably laughing right now. I have a pretty serious black thumb when it comes to gardening. But this little experiment has been a lot of fun. Eloise is thrilled, checking on her three little pots every morning, and witnessing the changes that happened overnight. Who would have thought that we would need to have an indoor garden in the middle of July. But, if you can’t beat it, join it!

*Sprouts! We have had so much success with grass, sunflowers, and daisies that Elllie and I are tempted to expand to tomatoes. Delusions of grandeur!

*Shoots! It was a busy work week. And for the first time in a long time, I managed to get the majority of my sessions in without having to reschedule most of them due to the weather. Yeah! Hoping the trend continues through this weekend.

*Enjoying the sunshine while we had it. We are still riding high off of a great 4th of July weekend. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed it to the fullest with a cookout and lots of outdoor time. We even offered to let Eloise stay up for the fireworks, but she got tired quickly and asked to go inside to bed. Maybe next year!
