I can’t believe it’s been about 7 months since I last saw baby Elena! She was just a newborn peanut at our last session…and would you look at her new? She’s a smiley, cool, sitting-up, playful little urban chick, ready to take on the world. I had so much fun seeing you again, Rebecca, and it was so nice to meet you, Jorge! Elena is just the cutest.
My little buddy, Kellen, has a new partner in crime! Meet beautiful baby Zane, who is less than a month old. We had such a good time with this session. Kellen was a bit skeptical of me at first, but gave me some of his best top-model smiles and even had a few kisses for his new baby brother. He really lit up, too, when we stepped outside for a few shots at the end of the session. I bet baby brother can’t wait until he can run around with you, Kellen! Congratulations again on your new arrival, Kimberly and Jon! I am so happy for you and honored to have been able to capture more special family moments for you.
Last Sunday, I had the honor of documenting darling Penelope’s Baby Blessing Ceremony and her first birthday celebration at the Waldorf Astoria. I have only witnessed a few Baby Blessings, but I have to say, that ceremony is so very special. I am always relieved when I have a camera to hide behind because my eyes are never dry…the sentiment is just so overwhelmingly meaningful. Penelope’s big day was especially touching, with so many close friends and family members present. Her parents did such a lovely job of making the day all about their youngest sweetheart, and her siblings rallied around her with pride and love. Aaron, Nichole, Bella, Jack, Oliver and Penelope…congratulations on such a terrific event in your family’s history. It was wonderful to meet you five and such a pleasure to be a part of it all.
We thought we might get a half hour out of Reed last weekend, as naptime was looming. However, my little buddy, the top model he is, rose to the occasion and not only made it the entire hour, but gave me his very best smiles to boot. Reed also helped me convince his mom, dad and visiting grandma, none of whom had been planning on being in any of the photos this session, to pose with him for a few shots. I’m so very glad you decided to join in on the fun, Amber, John and Grandma Ann, because those are some of my favorite images from our time together. Reed is just one of the cutest, sweetest little peanuts around and I loved getting to celebrate his big first birthday with him and his family. It’s hard to believe this little stinker is the same baby whose feeties were photographed in a pretty blue quilt in the NICU as a premee when he wiggled and giggled so much as we tried to capture a similar throw-back shot last weekend. Thanks for a great time, Amber and John! And nice to meet you, Ann!
