Alexander and Victoria at the Crystal Gardens

Per my new routine for family photo shoots with this family, it was cold and heavily raining last Monday. I don’t think we had a single date this entire year set for photos when it wasn’t raining! Luckily, Katya had the foresight to come up with a fantastic indoor setting for this session: The Crystal Gardens at Navy Pier. I had never shot there before, but I have to say it’s already my new favorite indoor public option. A welcoming, accommodating staff and absolutely beautiful light. It was the perfect setting for this adorable family. Thanks for another great time, Katya and Eric! It was wonderful seeing you four again. Happy holidays!

Clay

Happy first birthday to my little buddy, Clay! I have enjoyed documenting your first year more than you will ever know. The baby is gone and you’re such a (charming, adorable, darling) little boy now. Nikki and Paul, thanks for a great time once again! I am so excited for you as you start a new adventure out of state…although I am going to miss seeing you three every few months so very much! (Clay’s “IL love you forever” onesie is so appropriate!) You had better let me know when you are back in town, visiting friends and family, so we can schedule more photos. I need my Clay fix! Best of luck and keep in touch.

Grace and Andrew

For this session, Loralynne wanted to do something a little different and urban, and I have to say, I love how the backdrop in Bucktown turned out! For the second half of the session, since it was so chilly and the kids were getting cold, we headed to Wicker Park where Grace and Andrew had fun playing in the leaves. I can’t believe that baby Andrew is already 6 months old. Time sure is flying by! It was great to see you four again, Loralynne, Sam, Grace and Andrew. Thanks for sticking with me in the cold!

Love my daughter and her family’s fun in the leaves, which she chose to match their clothing colors with. Wonderful. Everyone is having fun!

Tate

I am so glad I got to catch up with Sandra, Brad and their little man, Tate, last week. Tate is getting so big but is cuter than ever. I especially liked seeing his mad basketball skills. This kid sure can dunk and has perfected some sweet trick moves, too. What a blast! It was great seeing you again, Sandra and Brad! Happy Holidays!
