When one of my clients, Stefanie, excitedly wrote me about her brother’s upcoming family session, she told me her nephew Gabriel was a “charmer.” Holy cow, she wasn’t kidding! Gabe didn’t stop smiling from the minute we met on the Nature Walk Bridge in Lincoln Park to the minute we wrapped the shoot in the Conservatory Gardens. What a sweetheart. It was so much fun meeting you, Susannah and Chris! Enjoy every minute with little Gabe!
It’s been about 2 years since I saw my little buddy, Gavin, and he’s a far cry from that newborn peanut that I took photos of the last time. And now, Heather and Kevin have a new peanut in their beautiful family! Meet darling Maggie. I had a wonderful time catching up with this newly-minted family of four…playing around with Gavin on his jungle-gym and cooing over Maggie’s sweet newborn expressions. It was wonderful to see you again, Heather and Kevin. Congratulations again on your beautiful new addition.
When Mike and I first moved to Chicago 7 + years ago, we spent many a lazy summer afternoon by the lakeshore, running or exploring or taking photos…always mesmerized by the beautiful sailboats picturesquely dotting the lake. I have always day-dreamed about going out on one, and Mike and I made a pack that someday, somehow, it would happen. Last Saturday, Danielle and Ryan gave us that opportunity. And it was nothing short of absolutely amazing. Dream realized.
Since Danielle and Ryan met sailing on one of their friend Gyt’s beautiful boats, Danielle had the brilliant idea to take their engagement photos out on the lake. Suffice it to say I quickly jumped “on board” with the idea. (Boo…I know. Couldn’t resist.) Danielle and Ryan were actually married a month ago yesterday (happy anniversary, guys!)…we turned their “engagement session” into more of a “happy newlywed session” because of scheduling. But it worked out perfectly. It couldn’t have been a more beautiful day. Captain Gyt was a fun, knowledgeable and gracious host, and once again, Danielle and Ryan’s happiness and excitement was contagious. Mike and I had the best time capturing these moments for this happy couple, and we certainly had some moments of our own that we will never forget.
We can’t thank you enough, Danielle, Ryan and Gyt, for a fantastic morning!
I was so excited to meet up with my buddies Evelyn and Charlotte again in Lincoln Park. They both got so big since last year and we had a blast exploring together. Once again, both girls gave me their most genuine and sweet smiles and were just a joy to be around. It was great seeing you again Greta and it was so nice to finally meet you, Chad! You have such a lovely family…thanks for a great time!
A year ago, around the same time, Marty, Rob, Henry and I met at Montrose Harbor to take some maternity photos. This year, we decided to head back to the same location with baby Violet and Grandma, too, to capture some updated images. Last year, it was freezing! This year, we had a great day. Henry gave me some of his best smiles and Violet gave me her top model poses. What a great time. It’s always wonderful to see you, Marty and Rob!
Jenn these photos are spectacular. Truly picture postcard ready! Thanks for sharing. They’re AWESOME!!
