This was one of those sessions when the photos turned out exactly how I had envisioned the concept in my head. I give all the credit to baby Rose, who was smiley and sweet throughout our entire session (even when her mama and I went a tad overboard with all of her wardrobe and accessory options!) It’s hard to believe Rose is already 6 months old. I feel so honored to have been able to capture her as a newborn and now at this fun stage. I already can’t wait for our next session together! Thanks so much for coming over to play at my studio, Brianne and Rose! Love you girls so much.
Let me let you in on a photo shoot secret. The key to an extended family session isn’t the perfect location, or weather, or whether you’ve managed to coordinate your outfits without being too matchy (although, I will say, this family did a fantastic job of that!) The key to an extended family session is just being happy about being all together. It’s a special thing when family can come together from different parts of the country to share a special occasion, and I’m always honored when I am asked to document those reunions. My friend Laurie’s parents drove in from Michigan, and her brother, sister-in-law, and baby niece flew in from Texas so that the little cousins could share a special Easter together. It was my first outdoor session of 2019, and while it was mild and sunny…we were all caught off guard by the extreme wind. There’s always something! But this family took it in stride (especially the three girls…they were STARS!), and instead of stressing about the wind-blown look, they cuddled a little closer and smiled. I absolutely love it. It was great to see you, Laurie, Alex, and Felicity, and I was so excited to meet little sister Cecily, along with the rest of your awesome family. I hope you had safe travels back to Michigan, Gretty and Grandad, and Texas, Michael, Elise, and Claire. Thanks for letting me be a part of your crew for a little while.
Baby Rose is “hoppy” to celebrate her first Easter this Sunday! I had the BEST TIME playing around with her and her mama in my studio earlier this week, and couldn’t resist sharing these pics before the holiday. More cuteness from her session coming your way next week!
I was excited to try a colorful, fun new backdrop idea, and Maddie and Porter came dressed perfectly for the occasion! How adorable do they both look in their Easter best? I can’t get enough of their sunny colors and all of the cute little faces they made as we played around together in my studio space. Thanks for bringing them over, Stephanie, and for jumping in a photo with them! You all look so wonderful!
Oh, these two little brothers. They are just the cutest! Benji and Nate both gave me their best smiles last week when they hung out with me in my studio for a mini session. It was gray and cold and rainy outside, but inside was warm and bright and full of laughs. Thanks for sharing your two top models with me, Dani! I am SO EXCITED for the third little brother to join your family later this year!
Lovely and so fun!
