Parke and David

Ah, my little buddies, Parke and David, are getting so big! I can’t believe it. And they are cuter than ever, as you can see for yourselves. I got the biggest kick out of their Batman and Superman and Thing 1 and Thing 2 tees. It was wonderful, as always, catching up with you four, Meg and Dave! Loved that we were able to capture some city shots before your big upcoming move. Best of luck and I already can’t wait to see your new place the next time we do photos!

Henry and Elena in Lincoln Park

Little Elena had a tough day last Saturday morning. I wouldn’t be surprised to hear that she was secretly coming down with this wicked summer cold that has been going around because the poor little girl was just not herself. We all felt so bad for her! Cuddles from her mom were her only comfort, although big brother Henry did his very best to pull her out of it with sweet smiles, lots of fun energy and even a few sunflowers picked especially for her. Thanks for sticking it out with me, Corinne and Todd! It was really nice meeting you four. We will get some smiles out of Nena next time!

My Seashore Baby

“Seashore Baby.” It was the first book I bought for Eloise before we even knew she was Eloise. I was 8  months pregnant and miserable, wandering through a book store…my happy place…trying to avoid the absurd summer heat and distract myself from feeling huge. For the first time I discovered the wonder of the children’s section. This little board book caught my eye immediately and, if I’m going to be honest, brought tears to my eyes. It was a window into my dream of someday enjoying the beach, my favorite place in the entire world, with my future family. Splashing in the waves, laughing, taking long, relaxing walks, exploring, reconnecting. So, of course, I bought “Seashore Baby” so I could start brainwashing Eloise the minute she was born  to love the beach as much as I do. I guess it worked. Last week Mike and I had the chance to live the dream. (For real this time, after an attempt that somewhat failed nearly 6 months ago due to a tummy bug and diaper rash.) We had been planning this getaway to Hilton Head Island with my parents, a chance to escape and relax together after my sister’s (beautiful, beautiful, perfect) wedding for years, and it was just great. The weather was lovely and Eloise had an absolute blast. It’s hard to say whether she liked the pool or beach better. She got a huge kick out of motoring around the pool in her float, “winking” at us (her newest trick!) and splashing around. But the waves in the ocean brought a smile to her face like we have never seen. The bigger the wave, the more she giggled. Dream realized. We ate way too much great seafood and ice-cream, spent the 4th of July in Charleston, bought Ellie her first baseball cap (kind of a right of passage in my family!)and shared a lot of laughs. It was so special to see Ellie’s connection with her Vovo and Vu deepen over that week and we will be forever grateful to have had that time. This little trip left us all wondering, “When can we come back?!”

Pure love!!!!! Looks like you guys had a fabulous time and these pictures are (as usual) just priceless! Look forward to seeing you all soon!

Alexander and his soon-to-be sister

FINALLY! Oh my goodness, I have never had a session rain out twice…very nearly three times…before! And this was a timely session, as Katya is 36 weeks pregnant and desperately wanted to capture some fun maternity and family photos during this special time. After a series of cancelled sessions due to crazy bad weather, we finally snuck the session in last evening…in between showers!… in Winnemac Park. Alexander as all smiles and I was able to capture some sweet moments with mommy, daddy and nanny, Elvira, too. I’m so excited for you Eric and Katya! Can’t wait to meet your baby girl soon. Best of luck in the next few weeks!

Ori and Tali revisited

Finally! A beautiful summer day! After more reschedules than I have ever had in 4 years of business, I was thrilled to see the sun shining brightly last Sunday morning. I hadn’t been to Lincoln Park with Judith and John since Ori was just a tot. It was great to re-explore the area with them now that Tali has hit the scene. It’s always a great time with these four and the kiddos really rocked it this time. Tali was full of huge smiles and Ori, despite a plant injury (yep…you read that right!) gave me his best top model poses. They’re the best! Thanks for another fun time, Judith and John!
