Well…looks like Kimberly, Jon, Kellen and I might have caught the last summer-like day of the season last week when we took family photos around Mary Bartelme Park downtown. It was great to see these guys again…can’t believe how much Kellen has grown. He gave me some great smiles and was a good sport about his big photo shoot. It was also special that Jon’s mom could join us for a few shots. Thanks for a great time, you guys!
I always enjoy spending time with these girls. This past session, Linden had a brand new trick for me. “So what are you learning in school, these days?” I asked, expecting to hear her answer letters and numbers and the like. “French,” she said, matter-of-factly. Wow. Of course, we had to test it out. “Bonjour,” said Linden, “Ca Va?” “Bien, merci,” I stuttered, trying hard to remember my high school classes. My French is, to coin one of Linden’s favorite catch phrases, “com ce, com ca,” at best. I’m always tickled by this little one, so this was kind of par for the Linden course. Hadley was also on her game last week, too. Normally just a tad skeptical of me and my antics, she was all smiles and effortlessly showed up some mad walking skills. Hadley is a daredevil and wants to try everything that her big sister does. It’s really fun to watch her grow up. As always, thanks for a fun time, Lynsey and Peter!
I can’t believe our baby girl is three months old today. Eloise has definitely upped her game in the cooing department of late. Something tells me she’s got a lot to say to Mommy and Daddy, ASAP. We also can’t get enough of Ellie’s eyebrows…so many adorable expressions. I could gush all day here, people, but I will try to contain myself and leave it at this one simple truth: Best. Three months. Ever.
Mike and I had heard a lot about the Morton Arboretum but had never been before. (FYI clients: while it’s a fun place to explore with your families, they unfortunately charge a heafty permit fee to take professional photos there.) So, after my sessions wrapped last Sunday, Mike and I decided to enjoy the amazing Summer-like Fall weather and take Ellie to explore the foliage. Getting there was a bit intense…cars were backed up for more than a mile, all trying to get into the park. Aparently everyone had the same idea! But once inside, we really enjoyed hiking around the beautiful space. It was very peaceful, beautiful during the golden hour, and it was incredible to watch Eloise, wide-eyed and alert for our entire visit, taking it all in.
I had never shot at the 31st Street Beach before…what a cool spot! Kimberly, Steve, Sebastian and Celeste had the beach to ourselves, even with a race running past on the path nearby, and the brand new playground is super cool. It’s been so much fun, over the past few years, to watch this family grow. Sebastian sings his ABC’s with more pizazz than any kid I’ve ever met, and Celeste has gotten so big since I last saw her when she was just a peanut newborn. Love her smiles! Thanks for a great time, Kimberly and Steve!
