It was a picture-perfect day on Saturday…sunny and cool and breezy. Just right to hang out at Montrose harbor and beach with two of my favorite top models, Jayhan and Layleh. With their loveable fuzzy family member, Biscuit, by their side, their smiles were brighter than ever. The thing I love about shooting at Montrose is that we can get so much variety in so little time. Thanks for exploring with me Farah, Praveen, Jay, and Layleh (and Biscuit!) It was wonderful to catch up with all of you!
These sisters! I always have a blast hanging out with Maura, Fiona, and Brenna, and this year was no exception. I was excited to be back at the River Walk downtown last Saturday morning with them. (I wasn’t kidding when I said I was digging this location for photos this year. Everywhere you look is a beautiful cityscape backdrop.) Despite some wind and cooler temps (and a pair of pesky shoes that started to pinch towards the end of the session), these girls rocked it, like they always do. It was wonderful to catch up with you, Eileen and Steve!
What happens when I get to spend an hour on a beautiful day downtown with two gorgeous, fun ladies? Well…see for yourself. Tons of smiles, and laughs, and adorable setups, and SUCH A GREAT TIME! It’s safe to say that we all had an “I Love Chicago!” moment while exploring the River Walk and watching the beautiful light play off the buildings and river. Jessica and Viviana, you girls are the best. I always have a great time with you, and these are my favorite photos of you two yet. Jessica, I’m so glad we went for it and captured the vision you had for these pictures!
NAILED IT!
So, every year, I set out with my tripod, remote, and an ambitious vision to take my own family’s holiday card photos. And, every year, it’s hands down my most challenging session. Why, you ask? Well, for starters, I have no patience with my own children (and husband, if I’m being totally honest) when I’m trying to pull off said ambitious vision and no one is cooperating. And also, the limitations of shooting with a tripod and remote can get frustrating. I’m happy to report we ended up with a few good options. But, you guys…these outtakes have had me laughing so hard all week. Don’t we all just look so happy?! My sister says Mike looks like he’s having an existential crisis, and that Simon and Garfunkle should be playing in the background. “Hello darkness my old friend…”
I’m seriously digging the Riverwalk backdrop. Just wait until you see Jessica and Viviana’s photos taken in the same location on my blog later this week. Let’s just say that their session ran a lot smoother than my own little family’s!
For the second year in a row, Charlie, Noah, Asher, Jessica, Jeremy, and I had a bright and hot morning for photos. So much for crisp Fall weather in September! But, lucky for us, Charlie, Noah, and Asher are top models and brought their A-games once again. By the end of the hour, Noah was ready to shed his button down, and all three boys definitely enjoyed finding a mist machine near the Pritzker Pavilion, but they stuck it out with me, and for that I am grateful. Thanks for being good sports once again, you guys! It was wonderful to see you five again.
I am in tears from laughing so much! LOVE that you shared this online!
