I had such a wonderful time catching up with Julie, Casey, Robin, Amy, and baby Thomas the other weekend in Oz Park. The last time I saw this family, Amy was a newborn peanut…and this time, she and Robin were the seasoned top models, teaching their new baby brother how to smile for my camera! Thomas was a natural, just like his big sisters, and we all had a lot of fun on a lovely summer day. It was great to see you again, Julie and Casey! Congratulations on your beautiful new addition.
Dear Albert,
I cannot tell you how special it was for me to take these photos for you and your parents. You may be just two weeks old, but we have all loved you much longer than that, my sweet nephew. You have been born into a very tight-knit, loyal, fun, slightly crazy family…which has suddenly grown so much happier now that you’re a member. Uncle Mike and your cousins, Eloise and Mae, are wildly jealous that they couldn’t meet you this time, but they look forward to lots of hugs and play time soon. I will always treasure our snuggles and time together last week, and I know Vovo and Vu feel the same way.
We may live far away, but, as Eloise and Mae’s favorite cartoon characters “Peg + Cat” are fond of singing, always remember: “If you’re visiting the zoo, and an elephant sits on you…don’t you stay smooshed under his tush. Give me a call, and I’ll give him a push. You can count on me.”
Love you, little buddy!
Auntie Jenny
PS: CONGRATULATIONS Becky and Adam! You are great parents already. We love you guys so much!
Oh my goodness…these guys! Parke and David, I can always rely on you two to make me laugh out loud. I was so excited to catch up with the twins…and to meet their new baby sister, Debbie! What a little angel. The sweet to her brother’s silly, Debbie is the perfect addition to one of my favorite families. Meg and Dave, CONGRATULATIONS! Debbie is absolute perfection. And I am dumbfounded as to how Parke and David are so big already. Weren’t we taking their newborn photos a hot second ago? It was fantastic to see you all again! Thank you for the wonderful time.
While these photos made me smile as I culled them (because how can you look at cuties like Jake and Lily and not smile?), they also made me sad to think that this sweet family will be moving away in just a few weeks. Eliza, Adam, Jake, and I became fast friends during our first photo shoot together years ago. And since then, we have shared the ups and downs of life’s big moments. I watched their family grow to include beautiful and sassy Lily, and have been honored to document their fun, sweet, special family moments here in Chicago. Eliza, Adam, Jake, and Lily…it has truly been a pleasure to get to know you over the years. You are such a special family, and I will always consider you friends. So, I won’t say goodbye…just until we meet again. Because a photo shoot in New York sometime sounds like a total blast. Best of luck on your new adventure, and keep in touch!
I have been taking photos of my buddy, Andrés, since he was a little peanut. So, it brought back a lot of memories when I had the chance to meet his new baby sister, Isabela, last weekend. Seeing these two new siblings together melted my heart. Adorable and sweet and so much fun. Congratulations on your beautiful new addition, Marlén and Sean! It was terrific to catch up with you guys again…thank you for a great time!
It was so sweet of you to take Albert’s first photos, Auntie Jenny! They came out wonderful.
